ESCWA is pleased to announce a workshop on entrepreneurship and marketing of productive activities using renewable energy in Tissemsilt on 26 - 27 February 2024. It has been designed in the framework of the series of capacity-building workshops for rural women in Algeria under the Regional Initiative to Promote Small-Scale Renewable Energy Applications in Rural Areas of the Arab Region (REGEND).

Eligibility criteria
You should be aware of:
- This workshop is open to anyone interested in entrepreneurship and management.
- This workshop is organized in partnership with the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Algeria.
- The workshop aims to:
- enhance rural women's knowledge in Algeria on the concepts of entrepreneurship and management from a rural development perspective.
- capacity-building for rural women in several regions of Algeria on the topics of sustainability, renewable energy, good agricultural practices, food production, and marketing of agricultural products.
Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA):
ESCWA was established in 1973, it is one of five regional commissions under the jurisdiction of the United Nations Economic and Social Council. The role of the Commission is to promote the economic and social development of Western Asia through regional and subregional cooperation and integration. It plays a critical role in promoting a holistic approach to development in their regions and balancing the economic, social, and environmental dimensions of sustainable development in their member States.
