In line with its ongoing efforts to strengthen competition policy in the Arab region, ESCWA is convening the eventsof the sixth Arab Competition Forum in collaboration with the United Nations Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the Competition and Anti-Monopoly Affairs Council in Iraq.

Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA):
ESCWA was established in 1973, it is one of five regional commissions under the jurisdiction of the United Nations Economic and Social Council. The role of the Commission is to promote the economic and social development of Western Asia through regional and subregional cooperation and integration. It plays a critical role in promoting a holistic approach to development in their regions and balancing the economic, social, and environmental dimensions of sustainable development in their member States.
