Opportunity description

IRC offers an internship in the USA in the field of financial education. The IRC in San Diego has provided training, technical assistance, and loans to refugees and low-income. The financial literacy program intern will provide both administrative and direct service support to the program.

Eligibility:

You must have:

  1. Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or master’s program.
  2. Experience with both administrative work and direct service with diverse populations. 
  3. Excellent organization skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to effectively collaborate. 
  4. Fluency in English, proficiency in a refugee language (Arabic, Farsi, Swahili) is a plus.

Your Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities may include a combination of program support, administrative/data support, and direct service based on your skills and experience:

  • Enter data through the IRC’s Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) and SalesForce database.
  • Assist with intake, support of walk-in clients and collecting follow-up information for past clients by meeting with them in person or by phone.
  • Help with developing the financial literacy curriculum by researching new topics as needed.
  • Help with facilitating financial literacy classes.
