Job Opportunity at Google in the US: Release Engineer 2020

Google is offering a job opportunity as a Release Engineer to join the team in California, USA for 2020. As a member of the team, you work with Software Engineers to ensure services and products seamlessly move from development through rollout and into production. This requires scripting and coding with an eye toward scalability so that big deployments can be broken down and distributed across multiple data centers. You are a excited by massively complex systems and the challenges that come from working with some of the largest computing systems in the world. 

Responsibilities:

1. Support and improve tools for continuous integration, automated testing and release management.
2. Manage release branches.
3. Build and sanity test release binaries (server-side).
4. Push new releases to production (server-side).
5. Maintain the build process to support ongoing R&D.

Minimum qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
2. 2 years of experience in software engineering, release engineering and/or configuration management.

Preferred qualifications:

1.  6 years of relevant work experience.
2. Familiarity with software configuration management systems and/or source code version control systems. Perforce experience.
3. Experience with code signing and build management tools (make, SCons, ant).
4. Experience with scripting languages, particularly Python.
5. Experience building C++ and Java applications.
6. Server side products: knowledge of Unix/Linux. Client side products: knowledge of multiple client OS's, such as Windows/Mac/Linux/iPhone/Blackberry/Android.
