Opportunity description

International rescue committee is searching for a protection team leader. He/She will be responsible for assessing referred cases according to eligibility criteria for CASH for protection linked to education outcomes; assure protection mainstreaming principles are applied in the livelihoods programming in North Lebanon.

Major Responsibilities: 

  1. Act as North focal point for receiving referrals of individuals and families who are eligible for Cash for protection assistance.
  2. Conduct household visits to assess the needs of referred individuals and families, and assess their eligibility for protection cash assistance linked to education outcomes.
  3. Ensure complete and updated documentation related to each individual case.
  4. Discuss cases’ eligibility with Protection and Cash Team leader.
  5. Manage, file and store data, ensuring confidentiality of information collected/services provided.
  6. Assure efficient communication and coordination with different sectors of field teams in the North.
  7. Participate in weekly meetings, and prepare and submit North weekly and monthly work plans in a timely manner.
  8. Conduct short term outcomes of assisted cases on time.
  9. When required by the Protection and Cash team leader, attend cash coordination meetings in North.
  10. Provide information session to North Livelihoods Centres clients about rights and entitlements.
  11. Coach and support volunteer in conducting information sessions.
  12. Contribute to the maintenance of an up-to-date service mapping of the service providers operating in the area and take proactive steps to remain informed about the available services.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor/Degree in Social work, Counseling, Psychology or other related fields.

Work Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in conducting field assessments and/or case management.
  • Experience working with a refugee population preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination, and safety of clients at all times.
  •  Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility.
  • Ability to work autonomously, take initiative and responsibly escalate issues.
  • Strong team spirit, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Flexibility in working overtime when needed and the ability to handle pressure well.
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).

Language Skills: 

  • Arabic fluency required, ability to communicate and write clearly in English strongly preferred.

Working Environment: 

  •  Combination of office-based (40%) and field-based (60%).
