Opportunity description

Chalhoub Group is offering a job opportunity as a Financial Reporting Associate to join the team in the United Arab Emirates for 2021.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Actively participates and are aware of Country level decisions, shaping financial strategy and the direction of the business.
  2. Is fully aware and where necessary supports the Budget, R1 and R2 process for the Countries.
  3. Works closely with the Country Finance, to ensure reporting deadlines are met and recording KPIs for non-compliance.
  4. Analysing and interpret financial reporting data from Countries, evaluates reasonableness of data provided.
  5. Data includes monthly management accounts (TDB - tableau de Board), cash flows, credit control, capex monitoring, budgets and their revisions, business case presentations.
  6. Challenge and advises Country Finance where large discrepancies identified, and escalates findings to Group Regional Finance Head where necessary.
  7. Interface, arbitrator or translator in finance matters between the Country finance teams, Regional Finance and Group Finance along with the auditors where required.
  8. Communicate/presents findings in a clear, consistent and user-friendly manner fit, amongst others, for the ‘C’ level.
  9. Understands and anticipates country related needs, identifying potential risks through understanding changes in economic/legal situation, and suggesting actions to mitigate these risks.
  10. Assistance with translation of key/new accounting concepts to wider finance community.
  11. Supporting the BS cleaning of receivables/payables wrongly posted.

Qualifications:

  1. Qualified Accountants are preferred - ACCA, CA , CPA(US), CFA.
  2. Arabic Speaker is preferred for the role.
  3. Other Key skill set ; Reporting data analysis, Credit Control Review, Business Partnering, Building Stakeholder Relationship, Advising, Influencing, Challenging.
