Opportunity description

Aramex offers an exceptional job opportunity as a Customs Compliance Manager to join the team in Dubai, UAE for 2020. The manager supports Aramex to more compliant in Customs, reduce the risks of non-compliance, and to ensure that customs clearance processes, procedures and regulations are adhered to.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Set policies for customs clearance compliance for the following, but not limited to: Proper classification of imports/exports, proper processing of customs clearance.
  2. Building a network of understanding of the various customs regulations in the region initially, then expand globally.
  3. Coordinate closely with the various customs leaders to ensure a sound compliant working relation.  
  4. Undertake Customs compliance audits and reviews, where required.
  5. Coordinate with stakeholders’ areas of improvement and non-compliance.
  6. Develop Customs Compliance Training program.
  7. Coordinate and work closely with the Trade Compliance team to ensure alignment.
  8. Coordinate with the Risk Management team areas of high risk and collaboration on reducing the negative impacts of the risks.
  9. Develop annual work plan and train team members as needed.
  10. Support in automation of processes where applicable.
  11. Prepare periodic reports of non-compliance.
  12. Responsible for network awareness of best practices and some training as needed.
  13. Coordinate with management areas of growth for the function on an annual basis.

Job Requirements (Experience and Education):

  1. 5 years of customs and trade compliance experience, with a minimum of 3 years in customs specifically.
  2. Minimum 2 years at a supervisory or manager level.
  3. Proven track record of initiating objectives and achieving them.
  4. Must be a self-starter and able to manage a function.
  5. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  6. Audit experience desirable.
  7. Ability to travel to different countries.
