Opportunity description

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is offering a full-time National UN Volunteer opportunity for an Administrative and Human Resources Assistant based in East Jerusalem. The selected volunteer will support recruitment processes, human resources administration, and daily administrative operations, while assisting with database management, reporting, and personnel-related procedures.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Support recruitment processes and assist in preparing job advertisements.
  • Review applications and prepare shortlists of qualified candidates.
  • Participate in interviews and contribute to recruitment reports.
  • Conduct reference checks and verify academic credentials.
  • Support onboarding, appointment, and separation procedures.
  • Maintain recruitment records and human resources databases.
  • Prepare staff-related reports, statistics, and HR documentation.
  • Assist with the management of cash advances and operational expenses.
  • Support cost-sharing arrangements with United Nations agencies.
  • Perform other administrative and operational duties as required.

Eligibility criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Business Administration
    • Human Resources
    • Public Administration
    • Or a related field.
  • Up to two years of experience in human resources, administration, or related functions.
  • Experience in administrative work and report preparation.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to analyze data and manage tracking and reporting systems.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Fluency in both English and Arabic.
