GEMS Dubai American Academy in Dubai is accepting applications from qualified Business Management teachers to join its academic team, with the successful candidate expected to begin work in August 2026.
The teacher will be responsible for delivering Business Management lessons within the Social Sciences Department to secondary school students. The role involves providing engaging and interactive lessons that help students develop critical thinking, inquiry, and analytical skills.
GEMS Dubai American Academy is the flagship American school of GEMS Education. It provides education from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 and also offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

Duties & responsibilities
- Teach Business Management as part of the Social Sciences curriculum in accordance with the school's approved curriculum and educational standards.
- Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons for secondary school students.
- Develop innovative and effective teaching strategies.
- Inspire students to develop an interest in Business Management and the Social Sciences.
- Foster students' critical thinking, inquiry, and analytical skills.
- Ensure the effective delivery of the curriculum throughout the academic year.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and exploration.
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a supportive and high-quality learning environment.
- Monitor students' academic progress and assess their performance.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings.
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding students' academic progress and performance.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development and the ongoing improvement of teaching practices.
Eligibility criteria
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education, or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject combined with a recognized teaching qualification such as a PGCE or PGDE.
- Have an academic specialization or teaching qualification related to Business Management.
- Have proven experience teaching Business Management or Social Sciences to secondary school students.
- Preferably have experience teaching the International Baccalaureate or Advanced Placement curriculum.
- Preferably have previous experience working in a school that follows the American or International Baccalaureate curriculum.
- Have strong knowledge of inquiry-based learning methods.
- Be able to deliver practical, engaging, and interactive learning activities.
- Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Be able to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Be committed to providing a high-quality learning experience.
- Demonstrate a willingness to pursue continuous professional development and improve teaching performance.
- Provide an enhanced UK DBS check or an equivalent police clearance certificate as a condition of employment.
