The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announces an engineering job opportunity in Aleppo, Syria, in the field of supervising construction, maintenance, and infrastructure projects. The role includes following up on daily work at project sites, supervising contractors, ensuring the quality of materials and implementation, and following up on technical and financial reports related to the projects.

Duties & responsibilities
- Supervise daily activities at construction or maintenance project sites.
- Follow up on contractors’ work and ensure it is implemented according to the contract documents.
- Ensure compliance with quality, health and safety standards, and gender requirements.
- Monitor the quality of materials and implementation works and conduct the necessary inspections.
- Measure the quantities of completed works and verify contractors’ payments.
- Ensure surveying works and site levels are properly carried out.
- Review shop drawings and “as-built” drawings.
- Prepare variation orders and time extensions when needed.
- Enter project data and reports into the Facilities Management Information System (FMIS).
- Prepare daily and weekly technical and financial reports.
Eligibility criteria
- A university degree in civil engineering from an accredited university or institution.
- At least 3 years of experience in site supervision for construction, maintenance, or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in Arabic and English at the level required in the job announcement.
- Ability and willingness to drive a United Nations vehicle when needed while performing work duties.
