The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has announced an exciting consultancy opportunity in Damascus, Syria, to conduct a Climate Landscape Analysis for Children (CLAC) within its climate, environment, energy, and disaster risk reduction programmes. The role aims to analyze the impact of climate change and environmental issues on children and their rights in Syria, while supporting the development of more sustainable and resilient strategies and programmes in response to climate crises.

Duties & responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive climate and environmental landscape analysis for children in Syria.
- Assess the impact of climate, energy, and environmental issues on children and their rights.
- Analyze climate-related policies, institutions, and financing.
- Develop recommendations for integrating climate action into UNICEF programmes.
- Collect and analyze data and prepare technical reports.
- Coordinate with government entities and relevant partners.
Eligibility criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Climate Science, Environmental Studies, Disaster Management, Public Policy, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in climate, environmental, or development issues.
- Experience in preparing environmental or climate-related studies and assessments.
- Strong skills in data collection, analysis, and report writing.
- Fluency in English, while knowledge of Arabic is considered an added advantage.
- Experience working in humanitarian settings or with the United Nations is considered an advantage.
