Zepz is seeking a Director of Business Development for Francophone Africa to drive growth across remittances, payments, and FX structured solutions. This senior role requires a highly commercial, self-driven leader with deep regional expertise, strong regulatory and banking relationships, and a proven ability to originate, negotiate, and execute complex cross-border deals. The organization aims to provide a lifeline for customers by breaking down financial barriers and focusing on long-term success and prosperity.
Duties & responsibilities
Driving growth across remittances, payments, and FX structured solutions within French- and Portuguese-speaking African markets.
Building and maintaining strong senior-level relationships with regional and local banks, financial institutions, and key ecosystem participants.
Leveraging existing relationships with in-country regulators and Central Banks to support market entry, licensing, and ongoing operations.
Leading and executing new market entries and partner launches, ensuring commercial, regulatory, and operational readiness.
Acting as the senior escalation point for the Francophone region, resolving complex commercial, regulatory, and operational issues.
Ensuring timely execution of business OKRs and strategic initiatives aligned with regional and group objectives.
Working independently with a high level of accountability, demonstrating strong ownership and execution discipline.
Collaborating cross-functionally with internal stakeholders across product, treasury, compliance, legal, operations, and finance.
Eligibility criteria
Strong existing relationships with banks, financial institutions, payment industry players, and ideally crypto or stablecoin providers.
Demonstrated experience engaging with regulators and/or Central Banks at a senior level.
Highly analytical and logical approach to problem-solving, with the ability to structure complex deals.
Excellent negotiation skills with experience closing high-value, multi-country agreements.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to influence senior internal and external stakeholders.
Resilient, adaptable, and calm under pressure with a strong entrepreneurial mindset.
Fluent in French and English (mandatory).
