Duties & responsibilities
- Lead UNICEF’s global communication and advocacy strategy to advance children's rights and organizational priorities worldwide.
- Provide strategic advice to senior executive leadership on communications, advocacy, reputation management, and public engagement.
- Oversee global media campaigns and manage relationships with international media organizations and journalists.
- Strengthen UNICEF’s global brand identity and ensure consistent implementation of corporate communication standards.
- Develop digital communication strategies and lead efforts to address misinformation and disinformation.
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with media organizations, influencers, private sector partners, and international stakeholders.
- Manage communication and advocacy teams, as well as the division’s financial, human, and operational resources.
- Represent UNICEF at major international forums, conferences, high-level events, and global policy discussions.
Eligibility criteria
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Communications, Media, International Relations, or a related field.
- At least 15 years of professional experience in strategic communications, media, public affairs, advocacy, or international relations.
- Minimum 5 years of senior leadership experience within a large international organization.
- Proven experience in managing global campaigns, media relations, and international partnerships.
- Advanced knowledge of digital communications, reputation management, and strategies to address misinformation and disinformation.
- Demonstrated experience leading large, geographically dispersed international teams.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French is considered an asset.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning skills.
