Opportunity description

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is offering a six-month internship opportunity within its Finance Unit in Beijing. This internship provides students and recent graduates with the opportunity to gain practical experience in accounting, financial management, and financial data analysis within an international work environment. The selected intern will assist with reviewing financial transactions, preparing reports, analyzing financial workflows, and supporting administrative and financial operations in accordance with United Nations regulations and financial standards.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Support the design and implementation of inclusive growth and enterprise development programmes.
  • Develop partnerships with government institutions, private sector organizations, and international agencies.
  • Prepare research studies, project proposals, and development initiatives.
  • Monitor project implementation and manage budgets, progress reports, and programme documentation.
  • Collect and analyze data to assess the impact and effectiveness of development programmes.
  • Support sustainability initiatives and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) activities.
  • Prepare knowledge products, analytical reports, and programme-related publications.


Eligibility criteria

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration, Political Science, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree with an additional two years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in project management, economic development, or development programmes.
  • Knowledge of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), sustainability, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards is desirable.
  • Strong analytical, project management, and partnership development skills.
  • Fluency in English and Chinese, both written and spoken.
