GEMS New Millennium School – Al Khail in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is accepting applications for a full-time English Teacher (Upper Primary) position.
The school is seeking an English teacher with up-to-date curriculum knowledge and experience teaching CBSE and IGCSE curricula, who is able to plan and deliver high-quality lessons that accommodate different learning styles and student needs.
The teacher will be responsible for monitoring students’ academic progress, assessing their performance, maintaining records and lesson plans, as well as supporting student wellbeing and providing guidance on educational matters.
Duties & responsibilities
The role includes:
- Teaching the required curriculum and demonstrating accurate, up-to-date subject and curriculum knowledge.
- Planning and delivering high-quality lessons that motivate and engage students.
- Preparing and using appropriate teaching materials.
- Creating a classroom environment that accommodates different learning styles.
- Preparing and maintaining curriculum plans and annual schemes of work.
- Monitoring attendance records.
- Preparing and organizing teaching resources and materials.
- Developing assessment plans and monitoring their implementation.
- Assessing and recording students’ academic performance and progress.
- Preparing reports on students’ progress and achievement.
- Using assessment results to adapt the curriculum to individual student needs.
- Supporting students’ overall progress and wellbeing.
- Providing students with guidance on educational matters.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must have:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English.
- A B.Ed – Bachelor of Education.
- Qualifications obtained through distance learning or open universities are not accepted.
- At least 4 years of teaching experience.
- Experience teaching the following curricula:
- CBSE.
- IGCSE.
- Previous experience in the United Arab Emirates is preferred.
- Good IT skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
