The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has reopened applications for a full-time Project Coordinator position in Fez, Morocco, under a one-year national contract at the NPSA-8 level.
The selected candidate will contribute to implementing a project focused on smart management of the sanitation sector, integrating waste collectors into cooperatives, and promoting the circular economy. The project aims to improve waste management in Fez, provide more stable and safer working conditions for waste collectors, and support recycling and waste sorting at the source.
The Project Coordinator will lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the project and coordinate with the Municipality of Fez, UNDP, service providers, beneficiaries, and local communities.

Duties & responsibilities
- Coordinate all project activities with the Municipality of Fez, the local team, and partner organizations.
- Prepare work plans, timelines, and budgets, and monitor progress toward achieving the expected results and indicators.
- Prepare procurement terms of reference and support the selection of suppliers, consultants, and service providers.
- Supervise project teams and service providers and assess the quality of the work delivered.
- Monitor the project’s administrative and financial operations, inventory, and accounting records.
- Prepare monitoring reports and measure the impact of activities on beneficiaries and the Sustainable Development Goals.
- Develop knowledge materials and policy briefs and document lessons learned and methodologies used.
- Communicate with beneficiaries, local communities, and the communications team to ensure the dissemination of project results.
- Develop a plan to ensure the project’s sustainability after external funding ends.
- Participate in international exchanges related to innovation, public services, and local development.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must hold one of the following qualifications:
- A master’s degree or equivalent in environmental studies, the circular economy, waste management and recycling, or sustainable development. No previous professional experience is required for applicants holding a master’s degree.
Or:
- A bachelor’s degree in one of the fields listed above, with at least two years of relevant professional experience in environmental project management.
