The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has announced an opening for the position of Finance and Administration Manager within its mobile international team. The selected employee will oversee financial and administrative activities in one of the ICRC’s field offices, ensuring the accuracy of accounts and financial reports, and managing budgets, risks, resources, facilities, and staff travel.
The position is not permanently based in Geneva. The duty station involves global deployment, and the employee will be assigned to one of the ICRC’s operations according to operational needs.

Duties & responsibilities
- Supervise the finance department and support the preparation of annual budgets.
- Prepare monthly financial forecasts and analyze budgets and costs.
- Monitor the liquidity and financial position of the field office.
- Ensure compliance with laws, financial policies, and ethical standards.
- Provide advice and training to teams responsible for humanitarian projects.
- Prepare financial contingency plans to respond to critical changes in the working environment.
- Manage financial and administrative risks and follow up on mitigation measures.
- Liaise with authorities, banks, suppliers, and commercial entities.
- Provide reliable data and forecasts to support managerial and strategic decisions.
- Oversee the management and maintenance of offices and residences.
- Follow up on staff travel and accommodation arrangements.
- Ensure that appropriate security arrangements are in place for staff and facilities.
- Manage the finance and administration team and develop the skills of its members.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in economics, business administration, finance, or a related field.
- Have at least five years of practical experience in business administration, financial control, financial analysis, or auditing.
- Experience in an international organization or the humanitarian sector is preferred.
- Have experience in supervising, training, and developing staff.
- Previous exposure to multicultural environments or assignments abroad.
- Professional proficiency in both English and French at C1 level is mandatory.
- Willingness to work in different countries and environments, including insecure areas.
- Strong leadership and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Cultural awareness and the ability to communicate with diverse groups.
Note:
The employee will be assigned to one of the International Committee of the Red Cross missions or offices around the world according to operational needs, usually outside their country of nationality.
