Job Opportunity with UNICEF in Jordan in Procurement and Supply Chain Management

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has opened applications for a Procurement Services Officer (NO-2) position based in Amman, Jordan, within the Regional Services Section, in the field of procurement and supply management.

The selected candidate will serve as a focal point and technical support resource for several countries, assisting UNICEF offices, government entities, and partners in identifying supply needs, assessing country readiness, planning and implementing procurement services, and monitoring operations and transactions related to the provision of essential products and services.

The role includes supporting UNICEF offices in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon, contributing to the development of procurement services, supply financing, and the strengthening of national supply chain systems. It also includes supporting the procurement and delivery of medicines and related services under the Global Platform for Access to Childhood Cancer Medicines (GPACCM).

The main responsibilities include:

• Providing operational support for the implementation of Procurement Services.
• Supporting supply financing operations, national budgeting, and market access.
• Contributing to strengthening national supply chain systems and assessing country readiness.
• Providing technical support that can be deployed across several countries in the region.
• Supporting the planning and implementation of procurement processes and supply-related services.
• Collaborating with UNICEF offices, government entities, and partners in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon.
• Supporting the procurement and delivery of medicines and services related to the programme for access to childhood cancer medicines.

Applicants must hold a university degree in one of the following fields:

• Business Administration.
• Management.
• Economics.
• Supply Chain Management.
• Logistics.

• Contract Law or Commercial Law.
• International Development.
• Health.
• Or a related field in the Social Sciences.

Applicants must also have:

• At least 2 years of professional experience at the national or international level in:

  • Or another related technical field.
• Experience supporting international procurement services or similar procurement models for essential supplies.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Procurement planning.

  • Supply chain-related quality assurance.
