Opportunity description
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Programme Officer (Livelihoods) to join its Recovery and Transition Unit in Juba, South Sudan. The position aims to support the implementation of livelihoods and early recovery programmes for returnees and host communities affected by the Sudan crisis, with a focus on economic empowerment, social cohesion, and community stabilization in areas of return.

Duties & responsibilities
- Implement livelihoods and economic recovery activities in targeted communities and areas of return.
- Conduct labour market assessments, value chain analyses, and beneficiary needs assessments.
- Support beneficiaries through training, mentoring, coaching, and business development planning.
- Coordinate with local authorities, partners, and stakeholders while monitoring implementation progress and measuring programme impact.
Eligibility criteria
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Social Sciences, or a related field with at least two years of relevant professional experience.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of four years of relevant experience.
- Experience in livelihoods programmes, economic development, displacement response, recovery, or related fields.
- Experience in research, analysis, and conducting field assessments.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong communication, coordination, stakeholder engagement, and partnership management skills.
