The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is offering an exciting career opportunity for a National Project Coordinator position within the “Circular Solutions to Plastic Pollution in Morocco” project. The role is designed for experienced professionals in environmental management, circular economy, and sustainable development. It provides the opportunity to lead a national initiative focused on reducing plastic pollution and promoting sustainable practices in the food and beverage sector through collaboration with government institutions, the private sector, and international organizations.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Coordinate all project activities and ensure implementation in line with the approved work plan and objectives.
  • Provide technical, policy, and finance mobilization support to the project.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, private-sector partners, research institutions, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee the implementation of technical studies, assessments, and consultancy assignments.
  • Prepare periodic progress reports, mission reports, and project achievement reports.
  • Monitor project performance indicators and track progress against expected results.
  • Manage partnerships and coordinate with national and international organizations involved in the project.
  • Support resource mobilization efforts and contribute to the development of policies and strategies related to the circular economy and plastic pollution reduction.

Eligibility criteria

  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience for candidates holding a Master’s degree.
  • At least 7 years of relevant professional experience for candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Proven experience in environmental projects, circular economy, waste management, climate change, or related fields.
  • Experience working with government institutions, international organizations, or development agencies is considered a strong advantage.
  • Fluency in Arabic and French is required.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing partnerships and multi-stakeholder projects.
  • A Master’s degree in Environmental Management, Sustainable Development, Chemical Engineering, Circular Economy, or a related field is required.
