Opportunity description
An Occupational Therapist position within schools under GEMS Education in Dubai, working as part of the Inclusion Team. The role aims to support students who need assistance with motor, sensory, and learning skills within the school environment.
The position focuses on individually assessing students’ needs and providing therapeutic plans and interventions that help improve their independence and participation in the classroom. It also involves collaborating with teachers, parents, and the school support team to ensure students’ academic and functional progress.

Duties & responsibilities
- Assessing students’ individual needs in motor, sensory, and learning skills
- Developing and implementing personalized Occupational Therapy intervention plans for each student
- Providing support and therapy sessions within the school environment or outside the classroom when needed
- Monitoring student progress and continuously updating therapy plans
- Collaborating with teachers and the Inclusion Team to apply supportive classroom strategies
- Providing guidance and training to teachers on how to support students in daily activities
- Communicating with parents regarding students’ progress and needs
- Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure the best support for students
- Contributing to enhancing students’ independence and participation in school life
Eligibility criteria
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Professional license (or eligibility to obtain one in the UAE)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children or in a school/clinical setting
- Knowledge of developmental disorders and sensory-motor skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team
- Experience in educational settings or international schools is preferred
