The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced an exciting job opportunity in East Jerusalem, Palestine, for the position of Project Engineer within a project aimed at developing hospital infrastructure and improving healthcare services in القدس الشرقية. This role offers the opportunity to work in an international environment and contribute to the management and implementation of engineering and construction projects in collaboration with healthcare institutions and international partners.

Duties & responsibilities
- Supervise the design, implementation, and closure of engineering projects.
- Monitor tenders and analyze technical proposals.
- Prepare technical reports and field progress reports.
- Organize meetings with contractors and prepare meeting minutes.
- Monitor project timelines and resolve technical issues on-site.
- Oversee quality assurance and safety procedures at project sites.
- Follow up on quantities, payments, and completion certificates.
- Coordinate with local authorities and partners to obtain the necessary permits.
Eligibility criteria
- High school diploma as a minimum requirement, preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- At least 7 years of experience for high school diploma holders, or 4 years for Bachelor’s degree holders, in construction projects and engineering supervision.
- Experience using AutoCAD and Microsoft Project.
- Strong skills in report writing and project management.
- Experience in field supervision and monitoring infrastructure projects.
- Fluency in Arabic and English, while knowledge of Hebrew is considered an added advantage.
- Valid membership in a local or international engineering association.
