GEMS FirstPoint School – The Villa in Dubai is accepting applications for a Science Teacher position starting in August 2026.
The school is seeking a teacher with experience in delivering Science within the British curriculum, particularly at GCSE level, who can provide engaging, high-quality lessons that meet the needs of students with different abilities and learning levels.

Duties & responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Science Teacher include:
- Teaching Science in accordance with the approved British curriculum.
- Delivering engaging, high-quality lessons to GCSE students.
- Planning lessons and preparing suitable teaching materials and learning activities.
- Assessing students’ performance and maintaining accurate records of their progress.
- Adapting teaching methods to meet students’ different abilities and learning needs.
- Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, innovation, and a love of learning.
- Using technology effectively to support teaching and learning.
- Motivating students and encouraging them to achieve the best possible academic outcomes.
- Communicating regularly with parents, colleagues, and relevant stakeholders to support students’ development.
- Participating in classroom programmes and extracurricular activities.
- Contributing to school events and initiatives.
- Following the policies, procedures, and values of the GEMS Education Group.
- Participating in professional development programmes and ongoing performance evaluations.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Science, or an equivalent qualification.
- Possess a recognized teaching qualification, such as PGCE, QTS, or an equivalent credential.
- Have experience teaching Science at GCSE level.
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a solid understanding of the British curriculum.
- Be able to deliver effective and high-quality classroom practice.
- Have the ability to inspire and motivate students to learn.
- Be committed to inclusive education and personalized learning that meets each student’s needs.
- Be able to plan lessons, assess performance, and accurately monitor students’ progress.
- Be willing to contribute to extracurricular activities and the wider life of the school.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
