GEMS FirstPoint School – The Villa in Dubai is accepting applications for a Science Teacher position starting in August 2026.

The school is seeking a teacher with experience in delivering Science within the British curriculum, particularly at GCSE level, who can provide engaging, high-quality lessons that meet the needs of students with different abilities and learning levels.

Qualified candidates may also have opportunities to take on middle-leadership responsibilities, such as curriculum leadership, head of year duties, extracurricular activity coordination, or careers guidance.

Duties & responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Science Teacher include:

  1. Teaching Science in accordance with the approved British curriculum.
  2. Delivering engaging, high-quality lessons to GCSE students.
  3. Planning lessons and preparing suitable teaching materials and learning activities.
  4. Assessing students’ performance and maintaining accurate records of their progress.
  5. Adapting teaching methods to meet students’ different abilities and learning needs.
  6. Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, innovation, and a love of learning.
  7. Using technology effectively to support teaching and learning.
  8. Motivating students and encouraging them to achieve the best possible academic outcomes.
  9. Communicating regularly with parents, colleagues, and relevant stakeholders to support students’ development.
  10. Participating in classroom programmes and extracurricular activities.
  11. Contributing to school events and initiatives.
  12. Following the policies, procedures, and values of the GEMS Education Group.
  13. Participating in professional development programmes and ongoing performance evaluations.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Science, or an equivalent qualification.
  2. Possess a recognized teaching qualification, such as PGCE, QTS, or an equivalent credential.
  3. Have experience teaching Science at GCSE level.
  4. Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a solid understanding of the British curriculum.
  5. Be able to deliver effective and high-quality classroom practice.
  6. Have the ability to inspire and motivate students to learn.
  7. Be committed to inclusive education and personalized learning that meets each student’s needs.
  8. Be able to plan lessons, assess performance, and accurately monitor students’ progress.
  9. Be willing to contribute to extracurricular activities and the wider life of the school.
  10. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
