The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) is inviting applications for an internship in Donor Relations and International Communications at its headquarters in Amman, Jordan.
The internship lasts for six months, during which the intern will work under the supervision of a Donor Relations Officer as part of the Global Communications team. Responsibilities include supporting preparations for bilateral and multilateral meetings, analyzing donor priorities, drafting briefing notes and reports, contributing to the development of funding proposals, and monitoring international aid data and available funding opportunities in areas such as education, health, protection, youth, and community resilience.

Duties & responsibilities
The intern will be responsible for:
- Supporting preparations for bilateral and multilateral meetings.
- Drafting briefing notes and other meeting-related materials.
- Assisting with the organization of donor field visits.
- Preparing political analyses and donor engagement strategies.
- Analyzing bilateral and multilateral donors and available funding mechanisms.
- Researching specialized funds, funding windows, and open calls for proposals.
- Contributing to the coordination of project proposal development with departments and field offices.
- Supporting files related to neutrality, gender, protection, livelihoods, and peacebuilding.
- Updating donor relations tracking dashboards.
- Analyzing official development assistance data and international funding flows.
- Identifying potential donors for education, health, protection, youth, and resilience programmes.
- Preparing and updating donor profiles and sector-specific funding opportunity records.
- Supporting the monitoring of donor priorities and potential areas for collaboration.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be currently enrolled in a university programme, or be a recent graduate who can begin the internship within one year of graduation.
- Be enrolled in a recognized graduate programme or bachelor’s degree programme.
- Study or hold a degree in one of the following fields:
- Business Administration
- Communications
- Marketing
- International Relations
- Journalism
- Social Sciences
- Or another related discipline
- Be fluent in English.
- Proficiency in Arabic is considered an advantage.
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills in international relations, regional dynamics, and donor priorities.
- Be able to simplify complex data and information and present it clearly and visually.
- Possess strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of project management and the project lifecycle is considered an asset.
