UNICEF is offering an exciting opportunity for an Education Specialist – Teacher Development and Education Workforce position within the Centre of Excellence for Education in Jordan. The selected candidate will contribute to the development of education programs and policies, support education system reforms, and strengthen teacher capacity to improve learning outcomes for children. This role provides the opportunity to collaborate with international experts and participate in impactful educational initiatives that advance education systems globally.

Duties & responsibilities
- Support the development and enhancement of teacher development and education workforce programs and policies.
- Provide technical advice and support to government entities and education sector partners.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of teacher development initiatives and programs.
- Conduct educational analyses and studies, utilizing data and evidence to support decision-making processes.
- Prepare reports, guidance documents, and knowledge products related to education development.
- Support the coordination of partnerships and collaboration with national and international education stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of innovative educational solutions and the integration of technology and artificial intelligence in education.
- Monitor the implementation of educational programs and evaluate outcomes to ensure the achievement of intended objectives.
- Provide administrative and technical support to UNICEF’s Senior Education Advisors.
Eligibility criteria
- Master's degree or equivalent in Education, International Development, Economics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Teacher Development, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of professional experience in teacher development, education system reform, or education workforce policies and programs.
- Experience in educational program planning and management or education research.
- Strong skills in educational policy analysis and the use of data and evidence for decision-making.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Experience in educational technology and artificial intelligence in education is highly desirable.
- Previous experience working with the United Nations or in humanitarian settings is considered an asset.
