Opportunity description
The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is offering a 9-month consultancy opportunity to support digital transformation and e-commerce initiatives for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the Arab region, with a particular focus on women-led businesses. The consultant will be responsible for designing and delivering training programmes on e-commerce, artificial intelligence tools, and digital marketing, while also supporting policy development, analyzing digital ecosystems, and enhancing SMEs’ access to regional and global markets.

Duties & responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and analyses of digital ecosystems in the target countries.
- Design and deliver training programmes on e-commerce, artificial intelligence tools, and digital transformation.
- Develop training manuals, learning resources, and capacity-building materials.
- Support national dialogues and policy discussions related to e-commerce development.
- Provide training, mentoring, and technical guidance to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
- Prepare technical recommendations, analytical reports, and project deliverables.
- Organize Training of Trainers (ToT) workshops and regional project-related activities.
Eligibility criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in E-commerce, Business Administration, Digital Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of professional experience in e-commerce, digital transformation, business development, or SME training.
- Proven experience in designing and delivering practical training programmes and capacity-building initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of e-commerce platforms, artificial intelligence tools, and digital marketing strategies.
- Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
- Knowledge of French is considered an asset.
- Previous experience with the United Nations or other international organizations is desirable.
