Opportunity description

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is offering an employment opportunity for an Information Communication Technology Officer (ICT Officer) at its office in Istanbul, Türkiye, under a Fixed-Term Appointment at the NO-2 level.

The ICT Officer will support the office’s digital services and technology infrastructure, helping ensure the continuity and reliability of information and communication technology systems. The role also involves providing technical support to staff and contributing to the management of digital systems and projects, information security, networks, and ICT services.

The position is aimed at candidates with relevant academic and professional backgrounds in areas such as computer science, software engineering, information technology management, business analysis, information security, and networking, and requires at least two years of relevant professional experience.

Duties & responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the ICT Officer include:

  • Ensuring the continuous operation of information and communication technology infrastructure.
  • Ensuring staff have reliable access to the required ICT services and solutions.
  • Providing technical support and assistance to employees.
  • Contributing to capacity building and knowledge transfer within the office.
  • Supporting the management of ICT projects.
  • Contributing to the analysis of business needs and technical solutions.
  • Supporting information security and network security measures.
  • Contributing to audits related to information technology systems.
  • Supporting telecommunications and network services.
  • Carrying out operational and administrative tasks related to the ICT function.
  • Contributing to the achievement of the office’s operational objectives and results.
  • Working collaboratively with different teams across UNICEF.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be eligible to work under the National Officer category in Türkiye.
  • Hold a university degree in one of the following fields or another relevant discipline:
    • Computer Science.
    • Software Engineering.
    • Information Technology Management.
    • Business Administration.
    • A relevant field within the social sciences.
  • Have at least two years of relevant professional experience in information technology management and business operations.
  • Have relevant experience within a large international organization and/or company appropriate to the nature of the position.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in areas such as:
    • ICT Project Management.
    • Business Analytics.
    • Information Security.
    • ICT Audit Management.
    • Telecommunications.
    • Network Security.
  • Be fluent in both English and Turkish.
