Opportunity description

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is accepting applications for the position of Technical and Vocational Education and Training Consultant (TVET). The consultancy will last for 9.5 months and will be carried out remotely.

The consultant will provide technical support to UNICEF’s global skills and secondary education programme and contribute to the development of TVET policies and systems. The role will also support TVET reform initiatives, strengthen young people’s transition from education to employment, and involve collaboration with governments and international organizations such as the International Labour Organization (ILO), UNESCO, and the World Bank.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Provide technical support in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
  • Support policy reform and the development of TVET systems.
  • Contribute to expanding TVET programmes and strengthening the transition from education to employment.
  • Support monitoring, evaluation, and research activities related to skills development programmes.
  • Collaborate with governments and international partners.
  • Prepare technical reports and research studies.
  • Support the development of digital solutions for technical and vocational education and training.
  • Contribute to improving the quality of secondary education and skills development.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must:

  • Hold a master’s degree in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Education, Development Studies, Monitoring and Evaluation, or a related field.
  • Have at least eight years of experience in education systems development, with a strong focus on TVET and secondary education.
  • Have experience in managing education programmes, developing digital systems, or implementing educational technology solutions.
  • Have experience working with governments, development partners, or the private sector on skills development or TVET reform initiatives.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in English.
  • Knowledge of Arabic is considered an asset.
