The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) is inviting applications for an internship with its External Relations and Communications Team in Amman, Jordan, with the possibility of partial remote working.
The internship will last for six months, and the intern will work under the supervision of the External Relations and Donor Relations teams. The role will involve data management and analysis, preparing reports and presentations, reviewing funding data, supporting grant and project management, and contributing to the preparation of financial and narrative reports for donors.

Duties & responsibilities
The intern will be responsible for:
- Supporting the External Relations Team in its day-to-day operations.
- Managing, analyzing, and presenting data using Excel and PowerPoint.
- Assisting in the preparation of financial summaries, reports, and donor presentations.
- Ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and quality of data and presentation materials.
- Contributing to the analysis of funding and donor data.
- Collecting and interpreting financial information to support strategic decision-making.
- Collaborating with the Contributions and Projects Units on grant management activities.
- Following up on grants, reports, and internal coordination between relevant teams.
- Assisting in the preparation and review of financial and narrative reports for donors.
- Ensuring that reports comply with donor requirements and internal standards.
- Contributing to the development and improvement of internal procedures, tools, and templates.
- Updating the partnerships database and donor-related information.
- Preparing and updating donor profiles and sector analyses.
- Conducting preliminary research on donor priorities and funding trends.
- Reviewing Official Development Assistance data and presenting findings in a clear and accessible format.
- Supporting the preparation of project proposals and programme documentation.
- Coordinating and proofreading documents and conducting preliminary quality checks.
- Performing additional duties in line with the priorities of the External Relations Team.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be currently enrolled in a university programme or be a recent graduate.
- Be able to begin the internship within one year of graduation.
- Be enrolled in, or have recently completed, a bachelor’s or graduate degree programme.
- Study or hold a degree in one of the following fields:
- Business Administration
- International Relations
- Political Science
- Development Studies
- Journalism
- Communications
- Social Sciences
- Or another related discipline
- Demonstrate fluency in English.
- Proficiency in Arabic is considered an asset.
- Possess good data management and analytical skills.
- Be able to prepare clear, well-structured reports and presentations.
- Be proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to review data accurately.
- Possess strong research, analytical, and teamwork skills.
- Be adaptable and able to respond effectively to changing tasks and priorities.
