Opportunity description

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) announces the opening of applications for an internship opportunity in the field of educational programme management, policies, and curriculum development within the Education Programme at the Agency’s headquarters in Amman.

The internship aims to support the development of educational materials, policy review, desk research, report and presentation preparation, and contributions to projects related to education policies, digital learning, teacher capacity-building, and curriculum development.

Duties & responsibilities

The intern’s responsibilities include the following:

  1. Assisting in the development and review of educational materials by analyzing content and ensuring its alignment with United Nations principles and UNESCO standards.
  2. Supporting research and policy review activities by collecting and analyzing relevant literature, data, and case studies.
  3. Assisting in drafting and reviewing policy documents, including summarizing key issues and recommendations.
  4. Preparing background summaries, meeting notes, and summaries of workshops, training sessions, and seminars.
  5. Contributing to the preparation of reports and presentations, and organizing information in a clear and easy-to-understand manner.
  6. Supporting the coordination of project tasks related to education policies and curriculum development.
  7. Conducting desk research on best practices in education policies, digital learning, and teacher capacity-building.
  8. Ensuring that final documents comply with UNRWA’s visual identity and corporate branding guidelines.

Eligibility criteria

  • Be enrolled in an accredited university programme leading to a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Or be enrolled in an accredited graduate programme, such as a master’s degree or higher.
  • Or have recently graduated from university, provided that the internship begins within one year of graduation if selected.
  • Have excellent proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Knowledge of Arabic is considered an asset.
