The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) is accepting applications for a job opportunity in Damascus, Syria, within the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). The opportunity is open to applicants with technical education or training in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Power Engineering, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Central Heating, Plumbing, or related fields.

Duties & responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the design and development of educational and training programs and curricula.
- Contributing to the analysis of occupations, competencies, and skills within the relevant field.
- Preparing program profiles, learning guides, and training materials.
- Evaluating and integrating modern and emerging technologies into training.
- Preparing training facilities, laboratories, workshops, and equipment.
- Developing training and lesson plans.
- Monitoring and facilitating the learning process in classrooms, laboratories, workshops, and workplaces.
- Addressing the needs of trainees with disabilities and special educational needs.
- Integrating life skills, employability skills, and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) procedures into training.
- Preparing and conducting theoretical and practical assessments for trainees.
- Collecting labor market information and using it to improve training programs.
- Contributing to the assessment of labor market needs and skills gaps.
- Applying quality assurance tools and procedures in training programs.
- Supporting digital and green transformation initiatives in technical and vocational education and training.
- Supporting the preparation and delivery of synchronous and asynchronous training.
- Collaborating with trainers and faculty members while maintaining a safe and organized learning environment.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must:
- Have completed secondary education.
- Have completed two years of post-secondary technical education or training in one of the following fields:
- Mechanical Engineering.
- Mechanical Power Engineering.
- Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC).
- Central Heating.
- Plumbing and Sanitary Installations.
- Or a related field.
- No previous work experience is required.
- Be residing in Syria.
- Live within a reasonable commuting distance of the duty station in Damascus.
- Hold a valid work permit in Syria at the time of application.
