Opportunity description
The World Health Organization (WHO) is offering a National UN Volunteer opportunity for a Digital and Web Designer in Tunis, Tunisia, through the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme. The assignment aims to support digital communications activities, website content management, webpage updates, newsletter production, and internal communications for the HRP/LHR unit, while ensuring that all digital materials comply with WHO branding and communication standards.

Benefits and Entitlements
- Monthly Volunteer Living Allowance of 2,349.66 Tunisian Dinars.
- One-time settling-in grant of USD 350.

Duties & responsibilities
- Applicants must be Tunisian nationals, legal residents of Tunisia, or individuals holding refugee status in Tunisia.
- Applicants must be between 18 and 80 years old.
- Have at least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Hold a Master’s degree in one of the following fields:
- Information Systems
- Web Content Management
- Digital Communications
- Technical Writing
- Multimedia Content Production
- Social Media
- User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Support
- Or a related field
- Demonstrate fluency in Arabic, French, and English, both written and spoken.
- Have experience in digital content management, web design, or digital communications.
- Possess strong English writing and editing skills.
- Have a good understanding of social media platforms and digital engagement practices.
- Be able to work effectively in a complex, fast-paced, and multi-tasking environment.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills suitable for an international work setting.
Eligibility criteria
- Develop, update, and maintain the HRP/LHR web pages.
- Publish and update web stories, publications, event announcements, job opportunities, and visual storytelling content.
- Ensure that all content is current, well-structured, user-friendly, and optimized for mobile devices.
- Recommend improvements to website structure, navigation, usability, and search functionality.
- Ensure compliance with WHO digital communication and branding standards.
- Schedule and publish approved content on social media platforms such as LinkedIn and X (Twitter).
- Support the production and distribution of the HRP Newsletter.
- Prepare monthly analytical reports on the performance of digital platforms and communication channels.
- Update internal SharePoint sites, including calendars, documents, and resource libraries.
- Manage the department’s image library within the WHO photo management system.
- Prepare internal updates and staff communications distributed via email.
- Produce simple design materials using templates, including newsletters, presentations, and briefing notes.
- Monitor the department’s general email inbox and route inquiries to the appropriate focal points.
- Review and edit technical documents to ensure compliance with WHO editorial and publishing standards.
- Coordinate with web, communications, and administrative teams across the World Health Organization.
- Track deadlines and ensure all tasks and deliverables are completed on time.
