International Drucker Challenge Essay Contest in its 13th Edition and a Chance to Win Valuable Prizes

The Peter Drucker Society Europe invites authors from all around the world to a writing competition; the 13th edition of the International Drucker Challenge Essay Contest. The participation is open to students and young professionals through submitting a narrative essay that may be underpinned by research. You will get the chance to win amazing prizes and be exposed to unconventional thinking and mind-opening discussions and actively contribute to sessions at the Drucker Forum.

If you are among the winners in the Student and Professional category, you will have one of the following prizes plus some additional benefits :

• First Place Prize: 2.000 EUR
• Silver Award (2nd place): 1.200 EUR 
• Bronze Award (3 rd place): 1.000 EUR
• Additional benefits include:
• Complimentary in-person pass for the 14th Global Peter Drucker Forum, to be held in Vienna, Austria on November 17 & 18, 2022.
• Invitation to attend the Gala event with Awards ceremony and to participate in a cultural program.

You must meet the following requirements:

• You must be 18-35 years old (inclusive of both ages).
• You must have been selected no more than once (or not at all) among the top 10 since 2010. 
• However, you can participate in the 2022 Contest (if still meet the age criteria of 18 - 35 years inclusive):
• if you were previously a student and are now embarking on a career at a university.
• if you were previously a student and meanwhile moved on to become a manager or entrepreneur.
• Essay category:
• You can submit one essay to participate as either a student or manager or entrepreneur.
• Student category:
• You are a part-time or full-time student (bachelor, master, MBA, or PhD).
• Or you are seeking your first opportunity after the completion of your last degree.
• Professional category, you are a:
• manager of people, projects, budgets, and/or processes.
• an entrepreneur or business owner.
• licensed professional.
• social volunteer or community leader.
• Keep to the essay format (1500 to 3000 words) as PDF or word document and font size is 12 points.
• Entries must be produced exclusively by you (no group work) for the specific purpose of this competition, and must not have been published elsewhere.

Competition schedule:

• Feb. 15: Submission is open.
• May 31: Application deadline.
• NOV. 17-18: Global Peter Drucker Forum.
• NOV. 17: Awards Ceremony.

Evaluation Process:

You will be evaluated based on your ability to analyze, and produce a coherent and impactful essay, specifically your: 

• Personal insights and original thoughts about the topic.
• Story-telling style and ability to communicate fluently in English.
• Research and citations of primary and secondary sources.
• Conclusions that could be drawn from Peter Drucker’s books and articles.
