University of New Orleans Press is calling authors from around the world to a writing competition. It is looking for the best unpublished novel or short story collection, as it aims to bring innovative publicity and broad distribution to authors. This is a unique chance to submit your novels and short story collections and win a prize of $10,000.

- A ten thousand dollar ($10,000).
- A contract to publish the winning manuscript with the University of New Orleans Press.

Eligibility criteria
You must follow the following criteria:
- Full-length works of fiction (novels and short story collections) only.
- Short story collections may contain novellas and/or longer works, as long as multiple pieces (such as short stories or other novellas) are also included in the manuscript.
- The work does not have to be regionally focused.
- There is no word limit.
- There is no limit on subjects covered.
- Multiple and simultaneous submissions are allowed.
- The contest is open to all authors from any country, regardless of publishing history.
- Manuscripts that have been previously self-published are accepted, provided they have never been under contract with a publisher.
Please note:
- Submission fee: $28.00.
- There are deciding on 15-20 finalists.
