AVIAMA 2021 Puppets and Mobility Grants Up to €2,000

AVIAMA is offering a grant that helps to forge links between the different countries represented by its members. As such, AVIAMA is particularly sensitive to the issue of mobility (travel and/or on-site reception). The cost of travel is generally an important part of projects in all areas: the main purpose of the grants is to assist in travel and stay. They are intended for anyone with a project in the field of puppetry: companies or artists who want to take part or attend a festival, researchers who want to do research, amateurs who want to set up a project, etc.

Eligibility Criteria:

• No age requirements are required, but the Jury will be particularly attentive to requests from students or young professionals.
• The Candidate undertakes to keep the designated member to be his mentor and the members of the Board of Directors informed of the progress of his project, opportunities and difficulties. 
• It also undertakes to provide a detailed report at the end of the project and possible follow-ups that are being considered.
• The nature of the projects supported must concern the field of puppetry arts in different aspects (research, learning, participation in an event: conference, symposium, congress or similar, production of a show...). 
• The project must take place primarily in one of the member cities, however, in exceptional cases, other cities will be accepted.

Grant Amount: 

Grants can reach a maximum amount of 2,000 €. 

Required Documents:

1. Detailed and well-argued presentation of the project (3000 signs) in French and English.
2. Detailed calendar for the project.
3. Provisional budget, detailing all costs and assistance expected (personal contribution, other grants, in-kind support, etc.) by the candidate.
4. Detailed CV, highlighting the links of the candidate with puppetry.
5. Personal cover letter, in French and English, explaining, in detail, why this request is made, what benefits are expected, and how these could be shared or contribute to the sector. 
6. Letter of support from one of AVIAMA's member cities.
7. Any other letter of support that the candidate considers may be useful to attach to the application.

TimeLine:

• The Call to apply for a grant will be launched annually in October. 
• Deadline for submissions: January 11, 2021
• A confirmation of receipt will be sent to the candidates. 
• Communication of the choice of the project selection and the amount allocated: April 15, 2021

AVIAMA is an association which gathers cities and local governments of the whole world around the puppet. Introduced in 2010, this association, whose head office is in Charleville-Mézières, includes cities convinced of the importance of the culture in their development and of the necessity of promoting the arts of the puppet.
