Amgen Scholars Asia Program for Bachelor Students 2023

Tsinghua University is offering Amgen Scholars program consists of eight weeks of intensive research program in a wide range of fields in biomedical sciences.

About the Program:

• The accepted applicants will join a faculty’s laboratory and involve in one or more specific research projects.
• Each Scholar will have a faculty member as his/her mentor.
• In addition, a postdoc, a technician or a graduate student will be assigned to train and assist the student in the lab.
• As a member of the lab, the Scholar will have the opportunity to participate in a series of academic activities, such as weekly lab meetings, group discussions, presentation training, and campus-wide seminars of interests.
• In addition, other non-academic gathering will be organized

Amgen Scholars’ benefits include:

• A stipend
• Round-trip air travel to Beijing
• Paid summer session
• Housing
• Meal allowance

Applicants must be undergraduate students who are:

• Enrolled in colleges or universities worldwide that award a bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent)
• At minimum, have completed their first year of undergraduate study at the time the summer program begins
• Are not graduating before the summer program begins, and after the summer program ends will resume undergraduate studies for at least one semester or one quarter

Applicants must also have:

• A strong record of academic performance
• A good working knowledge of English, demonstrated by a minimum:

1. TOEFL (iBT) score of 72
2. IELTS overall band score of 5.5
3. Cambridge English FCE, TOEIC score of 1095
4. TOEIC L&R score of 785
5. or TOEIC S&W score of 310

• An interest in pursuing a Ph.D.
