FDU in the United States offers a wide range of generous scholarships for international students. Most scholarships are based on academic merit and test scores and vary according to the program.
Scholarships:
- Col. Fairleigh S. Dickinson Undergraduate Scholarship: Up to $32,000 per year. Minimum Requirements:
- Based on academic merit
- SAT/ACT required
- Renewable up to four years
- FDU International Undergraduate Scholarship: Up to $27,000 per year. Minimum Requirements:
- Based on academic merit
- SAT/ACT not required
- Renewable up to four years
- Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship: $19,000. Minimum Requirements:
- Recognizes the academic merit of transfer students studying at community colleges in the United States who are demonstrated members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK)
- Proof of PTK membership must be included in the application
- Candidates must have completed at least 24 credits of college-level work
- Renewable for up to two years
- FDU International Transfer Undergraduate Scholarship: $1,000 to $18,000. Minimum Requirements:
- Based on academic merit
- Renewable based on continued full-time enrollment
- FDU International Graduate Scholarship: $1,000 to $10,000. Minimum Requirements:
- Based on academic merit
- Renewable up to two years
- Global Housing Grant: $3,000. Minimum Requirements:
- Must live on and attend the Metropolitan campus
- Based on academic merit, financial need and extracurricular involvement
- Recipients can still qualify for merit-based scholarships
- Renewable up to two years
- FDU Family Grant: $1,500. Minimum Requirements:
- For families with two or more dependent children simultaneously attending FDU
- Maximum of $1,500 will be awarded per person for up to 4 years for undergraduates
- Recipients can still qualify for merit-based scholarships
- Does not apply to students enrolled in Wroxton College, summer sessions, inter-sessions, mini-sessions, or other special sessions
- Children of Alumni Grant: $1,500. Minimum Requirements:
- For dependent children of FDU alumni
- Recipients can still qualify for merit-based scholarships
- Renewable up to four years for undergraduates
- Athletic Scholarships: Varies (up to full tuition and housing). Minimum Requirements:
- Recognizes superior athletic ability of students participating in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I
- Only available at the Metropolitan Campus
- J. Michael Adams (JMA) Global Education Scholarship (Created to honor J. Michael Adams, the 6th president of FDU and a great internationalist): $7,000 (one-time grant). Minimum Requirements:
- Awarded to graduates of ELS English for Academic Purposes Program Level 112
- Must apply for Conditional Admission at FDU and be nominated by the Office of International Admissions
- Based on academic merit
- Recipients can still qualify for merit-based scholarships.
- ELS English Language Center Grant: $5,000. Minimum Requirements:
- Awarded to graduates of ELS English for Academic Purposes Program Level 112
- Available to undergraduates and graduates
- Cannot be combined with merit-based scholarships (if a student qualifies for a merit-based scholarship, they will receive whichever award is higher)
- Renewable for up to four years for undergraduates and two years for graduates.
Scholarship Conditions:
- Must submit a complete FDU application.
- Awarded at the time of admission
- Will not increase once awarded.
- Awarded per year (Fall and Spring semesters).
- Cannot be used towards a Summer semester.
- Renewable based on continued full-time enrollment, maintaining a good GPA and remaining in good standing at FDU.
- Meeting minimum criteria does not ensure receipt of an award.
- Subject to certain restrictions.
Deadlines:
- Fall (August) Semester: July 1.
- Spring (January) Semester: December 1.
Fairleigh Dickinson University:
The largest private university in New Jersey, FDU is a not-for-profit, nonsectarian, multicampus institution. Founded in 1942, FDU achieved a four-year status in 1948 and approval as a university in 1956. The University offers over 100 undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including doctoral programs in pharmacy, nursing practice, clinical psychology, and school psychology; and an AACSB-accredited business school. Degree programs are offered on two New Jersey campuses and at two FDU locations outside the U.S.: Wroxton College, in Oxfordshire in England, and the Vancouver Campus, in British Columbia, Canada.
