The Eisaku Sato Memorial Foundation has launched the Eisaku Sato Essay Contest providing anyone with interest writing about current issues the chance to submit an essay of How should the United Nations cope with demographic changes of unemployment, depopulation or social security system and other. Essays may be written in either English (maximum 20 pages) or Japanese (maximum 30 pages).

Winners will receive a grand prize (¥500,000), a second prize (¥200,000), and an honourable mention (¥50,000) will be awarded at a ceremony that will be held at UNU Headquarters in Tokyo in September 2017.
