Animafest Zagreb - 32 World Festival of Animated Film is inviting all interested filmmakers to take part in its 2022 <a href="https://www.for9a.com/en/opportunity/category/Competitions-and-Awards" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">competition</a>.

<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">Short Film Competition:</li></ul><ol><li class="ql-align-justify">Grand Prix - Short Film (best short film of the festival) – cash award of €2,500.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Golden Zagreb Award (for creativity and innovative artistic achievement) – cash award of €2,000.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Zlatko Grgić Award (best first production out of educational institutions) – cash award of €1,500.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Mr. M – Short Film, audience award.</li></ol><ul><li class="ql-align-justify">Feature Film Competition:</li></ul><ol><li class="ql-align-justify">Grand Prix - Feature Film (best feature film of the festival) – cash award of €2,500.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Mr. M - Feature Film, audience award.</li></ol><ul><li class="ql-align-justify">Student Film Competition:</li></ul><ol><li class="ql-align-justify">Dušan Vukotić Award for best student film – cash award of €1,000.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Best Animation School – award to an educational institution for the best choice of films submitted for selection (at the discretion of the Student Films Competition selection committee).</li></ol><ul><li class="ql-align-justify">Films for Children Competition: Best film for children.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Croatian Film Competition: Best Croatian Film – cash award of €1,000.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">VR Animation Competition: Best VR project.</li></ul>Jury members can present special awards and mentions. The Festival may permit other Croatian or international organizations or institutions to present their own awards.&nbsp;

<ol><li class="ql-align-justify">Festival’s submissions are open to films applying all animation techniques, including combinations with live-action and documentary. Over 50% of the production must be animated, and the Festival reserves the right to determine whether an entry qualifies as animation.&nbsp;</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Films should be completed after 1 January 2019. Films entered for the previous Festival will not be taken into consideration. Unfinished films will not be taken into consideration.&nbsp;</li><li class="ql-align-justify">There is no entry fee.</li></ol>Competitions Categories:<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">Short films (maximum running time 40 minutes) can be submitted to the following competition categories:&nbsp;</li></ul><ol><li class="ql-align-justify">Short Film Competition.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Student Film Competition – films produced at an educational institution.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Films for Children Competition.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">Croatian Film Competition – films whose majority producer is Croatian and/or films by Croatian directors.</li></ol>Note that: Films suitable for children submitted for Short Film Competition, Student Film Competition or Croatian Film Competition can also be additionally submitted for the Films for Children Competition category. Croatian films submitted for Short Film Competition, Student Film Competition and Films for Children Competition also qualify for the Croatian Film Competition.<ul><li class="ql-align-justify">Feature films (minimum running time 40 minutes) can be submitted to the following competition category: VR Animation Competition – open to immersive works that include animation as the main component.</li></ul><h3 class="ql-align-justify">Required Materials:</h3><ul><li class="ql-align-justify">For each film, the applicant is required to fill out a separate online entry form and submit a preview screener of the film.</li><li class="ql-align-justify">&nbsp;The online application should contain additional materials:&nbsp;</li></ul><ol><li>Director’s photograph.</li><li>3 still images from the film (min. 300 dpi).</li><li>Dialogue list in English.</li></ol><ul><li class="ql-align-justify">Films with dialogue or narration in languages other than English should have English subtitles. Films with dialogue or narration in English are recommended to be entered with a screener with English subtitles.&nbsp;</li><li class="ql-align-justify">A preview screener must be submitted online entering a link and a password for download in the online application form. The preview screener must be available for download until 1 April 2020.
