Getting a top quality Bachelor'sor Master’sdegree is not always possible for young Arabs, especially if finances are a barrier. Therefore Al Ghurair Foundation announces the opening of application for its new program known as Al Ghurair STEM Scholars Program which offers for students the scholarship and support system they need to realize their goals. The scholarship supports students for the duration of their chosen degree, based on the credits required for each degree and the typical time needed to complete all required credits on a full load/semester basis. If the scholar maintains all the requirements of the scholarship and his/her financial situation does not change significantly, there will be no need to re-apply to the scholarship.
Benefits:
As an Al Ghurair STEM Scholar, you will receive a scholarship to pursue a degree at one of our partner universities which are Princess Sumaya University for Technology in Jordan, Al Akhawayn University in Morroco, Palestine Polytechnic, An- Najah National University, and al-Quds University in Palestine. The scholarship will include both financial and non-financial support that will enable you to attend and succeed at university and prepare for a successful transition to work.
Financial support includes support towards:
- University tuition and other mandatory university fees.
- Health insurance, as per the university plan.
- On-campus housing costs travel airfare and visa costs for students living away from family.
- Support towards living expenses.
Non-financial support includes access to:
- A network of Al Ghurair Scholars around the world.
- Community service experience.
- Work experience and exposure opportunities.
- Skill development tools and opportunities to build leadership skills.
- Academic advising, career counseling and mentorship.
Selection Criteria:
Applicants wishing to apply for this scholarship must:
- Be Arab citizens holding no other passport. (Preference is given to residents of the Arab world for at least 12 years).
- Be 17-30 years old (For students now applying to the undergraduate level, they must have graduated from high school within the last 4 years).
- Be academically high-achieving with a cumulative GPA of no less than 85% in high school or 3.0 in university.
- Be willing and able to show proof of your financial need in your application.
- Be planning to apply or currently attending one of our partner universities for a Bachelor or Master degree.
Application Documents:
Applicants need to submit the following documents when applying to the STEM program:
- Personal documents which include:
- National ID (from country of nationality).
- Residency ID (from country of residency).
- Family book.
- Passport.
- Refugee status documentation.
- Academic documents which include:
- Official transcript of the most recent completed academic year.
- Letter of acceptance from AGFE partner university (if available at time of application).
- Results from any standardized exams already taken.
- Financial documents which include:
- Personal salary statement or other income documents, 6 months bank statements for savings & current accounts (if applicable).
- Salary certificate or other documents proving income/pension for all other family household members.
- Six-month bank statements for savings & current accounts of parents or spouse (depending on personal status).
- Statement of annual cost of education for each household member studying.
- Family house rental contract (if the home is rented).
- Proof of special needs or chronic illnesses among any household members (if applicable).
