Opportunity description

The Ministry of Higher Education of Sri Lanka offers for the seventh year the Bachelor Scholarships program for foreign students for the academic year 2017-2018. The program aims to bring about stronger educational and cultural ties with friendly nations. Scholarships are open for courses of study other than Medical, Dental Sciences & Engineering. Applicants must provide evidence of proficiency in English, a minimum score for TOEFL is 525 and 6.5 for IELTS. Students should undergo HIV/AIDS test within a month after arrival and to cover the immediate expenses, students are advised to bring approximately $350.

The scholarship winners will be exposed to an environment of academic excellence and a culture of hospitality in an Asian setting. The scholarship covers the tuition fees, traveling and visa fees, in addition to one off-settlement allowance of LKR 10,000 and a monthly living allowance of LKR 30,000, which is paid during the third week of each month, and health insurance.
