Opportunity description

Heinz-Kühn-Foundation in German offers young journalists from developing countries nationals grants to attend training in North-Rhine-Westphalia for up to three months, so they get to gain professional journalism experience.


Benefits

  1. A lump-sum contribution towards living and training expenses.
  2. A lump-sum allowance for flight and traveling expenses (the foundation pays a return air ticket).
  3. An allowance for internal trips.
  4. An allowance to cover the costs of research materials.
  5. A German language course of up to four months at the Düsseldorf or Bonn based Goethe-Institut, if necessary.
  6. In the lead-up and throughout the duration of the grant, the Heinz-Kühn-Foundation will provide support.


Eligibility criteria

  1. Keen interest in development issues.
  2. Substantial professional experience under-belt (a completed college education in journalism is desirable).
  3. 35 years of age, or younger.
  4. Good commandو or at least a basic knowledge of the German language.

Required Documents:

  1. Curriculum vitae in tabular form, and a photograph.
  2. Certificates of vocational training and present occupation.
  3. German language certificates.
  4. Letter of motivation in German.
