Film Free Way invites filmmakers around the world to participate in the 17th Jecheon International Music & Film Festival which will be held from the 12th to 17th August 2022 in the Jecheon City of Chungcheongbuk-do Province, Republic of Korea. Launched in 2005, Jecheon International Music & Film Festival (JIMFF) aims to be both a celebration of film and exhilarating music shared and enjoyed by all whole generations. And the Festival presents a series of programs that combine film and music including a section specifically for music, a program that introduces the various currents of contemporary music & cinema, a number of live concerts staged outdoors on the shores of Cheongpung Lake.
Festival Program:
- World Music Film Today – International Competition Section: The official competition section for the feature-length film (More than 60mins), World Music Film Today introduces the latest films across all genres in which music plays a central role.
- World Music Film’s Landscape: This section introduces a selection of international films about music or musicians, films in which music plays a major role, and films that explore various aspects of life and culture through music.
- Korean Music Film Now: Korean Music Film Now introduces the Korean latest music films in various genres including narrative, documentaries, and animated films.
- Family Fest: Featuring popular films that possess broad appeals across the generations, Family Fest is a program section for enjoyable, family-centered all generation-music film.
- Cinema Concert: A signature program of JIMFF, Cinema Concert represents the most primitive form of film music, while experiencing simultaneous screening and live music performance.
- Curator of the Year: JIMFF invites a filmmaker who has played a major role within the history of Music Film to serve as a curator, sharing his or her representative works and favorite music films.
- Special Programs / Retrospectives.

Eligibility criteria
- The entries open for every nationality, kinds, length, and film-related to the music-themed subject.
- Only films that have been completed after January 1st, 2020 are eligible for submissions.
- Classification of a Feature film and a short film: Based on running time, a feature-length film is 60 minutes and/or more, and a short is less than 59 minutes.
- Once a film has been selected, it cannot be withdrawn from the enlisted program. In the case of any intentional and/or unintentional misgiven information on the entry form, the Festival Selection Committee can reach an agreement to cancel the designated film’s status from the Program.
- Entrants cannot choose the screening section on the process of entry submission. It is the Festival Selection Committee’s sole authority and responsibility to determine each film’s screening section.
- For non-Korean dialogue films, the festival produces Korean subtitles to provide the best experience to Korean audiences.
- All rights of the Korean subtitles are reserved to the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival. The subtitles will neither be provided nor given for free to the Entrant and/or participant of the indicated film but could be sold and/or rented.
