Opportunity description

The Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands is offering the Talent Grant two-year Research Master's Scholarship for applicants who want to do research in Theology and Religious Studies. The Talent Grant amounts to 50 % of the tuition fee.

Requirements:

  1. Sufficient knowledge of English: a TOEFL score of at least 600 (paper), 250 (computer) or 100 (internet), or a minimum score of 7.0 in IELTS (International English Language Testing System; overall; 6.5. on parts) is required.
  2. Native speakers of the English language, as well as Dutch applicants with a VWO certificate, are exempt from the previous requirement.
  3. Bachelor's degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Arts (e.g. International Organizations, Middle Eastern Studies, Philosophy), Political Sciences or Social Sciences (e.g. Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology).
  4. Depending on your former study and courses a reading package will be provided. It is assumed that you are aware of the concepts and theoretical discussions outlined in this literature.

Benefits:

The Talent Grant amounts to 50 % of the tuition fee.

Selection Criteria:

Students are selected on the basis of academic merit (i.e. results obtained in a study program, academic paper, overall evaluation of previous education, etc.) and of the candidates' motivational statements.
