The NTU Institute of Science and Technology for Humanity (NISTH) and the School of Art, Design and Media are inviting global artists and technologists with extraordinary creativity in digitally mediated art, design and cultural heritage to apply for the NTU Global Digital Art Prize (NTU GDAP). The Prize is intended to nurture and catalyze the vast potential of creativity in digital art, culture and technology for the betterment of the human condition in the age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
The theme of the inaugural NTU GDAP is Fourth Industrial Revolution, so they are looking for imaginative works where artistry and scientific interests collide and works that embrace human imagination and creativity, as well as critical thinking and scientific rigor in the development of new technological solutions.
They welcome submissions of new works into two categories:
- International Professionals.
- Local Students.
Eligibility criteria:
- The NTU GDAP is open to any living artist, 18 years of age or older, from any country.
- The International Professionals category welcomes all artists from around the world.
- The Local Students category welcomes submissions by students studying full-time or part-time in Singapore only.
- Works submitted must be new or have never been previously exhibited.
- Each participant is only allowed one submission.
- Artwork must be related to the theme of NTU GDAP 2019: Fourth Industrial Revolution. Artwork can be in any medium, size, format, genre or approach and must engage digital media or processes in more than 50% of the work.
- No signature, stamp or any other identifying mark is allowed anywhere on the entry.
- Accepted media (can include one or more of the following):
- 2D, 3D, or 4D
- AI and robotics
- Animation
- Bio-digital
- Conceptual or poetic
- Film and video
- Immersive media
- Installations
- Interactive
- Online, social media, and mixed media forms
- Other experimental and emerging digital genres
- Painting, photography, and Wall-based work
- Performances
- Physical computing
Prize:
The prestigious NTU GDAP comprises a total of SGD$50,000 (USD 35,000) in prize money.
