UM ifest is inviting overseas students to participate in the Indonesian Cultures Competition 2020. Indonesia has captivated students from across the sea to expand their insights for its diverse languages, cultures, and tourisms. Designed to globally unmask the wonderful of Indonesian language, cultures, and tourisms, especially Malang, UM iFest presents the tagline “Broaden Your Vistas, Embrace Cultural Diversity” to excite overseas students to bear witness to Indonesia, the homeland of diverse languages, cultures, and tourisms.

Online Competitions Types:-

You can choose one of the following competitions to participate in:

Short Video (Vlog): Make a YouTube VLOG about “Language, Culture and Culinary of Indonesia”. Click here for more information.
Short Story Writing: Write a short story about Language & Culture, or Tourism in Indonesia. Click here for more information.
Instagram TV (IG TV): Create your IG TV about UM iFest 2020. Click here for more information.
Indonesian Song Video Clip: Sing Indonesian song, unleash your creativity. Click here for more information.

Competitions Objectives:-

To introduce Indonesian cultures, especially Malang, to the international.
To give excellent and memorable services that could inspire the overseas students as a candidate agent to promote Indonesia.
To broaden the international exposure activities in Universitas Negeri Malang.
To advance the reciprocity of international partnership initiation.
To endorse the potential tourism of Malang City.
To promote the education quality of Indonesia, especially Universitas Negeri Malang, to students from across the globe.

Eligibility and Conditions:-

All non-Indonesian citizens from any country are eligible to join.
One participant can only join one competition.
All competitions should be individual, except for Video Clip Indonesian Song.

Prizes:-

For each category will receive a prize:

1st place: $250.
2nd place: $200.
3rd place: $150.

Competitions Timeline:-

Registration: 10 August – 5 October 2020.
Project submission deadline : 10 October 2020.
Announcement : 15 October 2020.

About UM ifest:-

UM iFest is an online competition and workshop program for overseas students. The program is instituted to provide an online competition and workshops to expose Indonesian languages, cultures, and tourisms, particularly Malang. In order to enhance global education at international level in a virtual and/or practical approach in the contribution of widely promoting Indonesian cultures and tourisms, especially Malang, Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) through the Office of International Affairs offers UM iFest program.
