Online Volunteer Opportunity from the UN for Iraqi Graphic Designers

The United Nations ,in cooperation with UNDP Iraq Crisis Response and Resilience Programme ICRRP, is offering an online volunteer opportunity for Iraqis in Editing and Designing SoP materials.

Background and Objectives:-

• UNDP is the Emergency Livelihoods Cluster (ELC) lead agency globally. It is composed of a Cluster Coordinator who leads all of the cluster related activities and supported by a Co-Cluster Coordinator, and an Information Management Officer (IMO). 

• In Iraq, the cluster is composed of over 50 partners. These partners are made up of UN agencies (UNWomen, IOM, UNHCR etc) and NGOs (Oxfam, GOAL, World Vision etc).

• The SOPs, therefore, become the go-to guides for all stakeholders looking to engage in Livelihoods related activities. 

• There are 5 SOPS under the following Livelihoods activities: - Vocational Training - Job Placement - Business Incubation (Business Grants) - Asset Replacement - Cash for Work.

Tasks:-

• The selected candidate will edit and prepare the design for 5 standard operating procedure documents. 

• Using the guidance of this initial SOP, the volunteer will ensure that the content is not affected by the inclusion of images or other graphics, is structured in a way that maintains the flow of the narrative, whilst the design inputs compliment and extenuate/act to exemplify the narrative. 

• An SOP is a procedural document specific to your operation that describes the activities necessary to complete tasks in accordance with sector-based best practices and is contextualized to Iraq.Any document that is a “how to” falls into the category of procedures. 

• The document will be used operationally by over 50 cluster members. 

• The online volunteer will be supported via Skype, email and Whatsapp calls to support SOP development over 5 weeks of the completion time frame.

Requirements:-

• The volunteer should be an Iraqi citizen.

• Competent in the use of graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite tools). 

• Previous experience in design work creating booklets, brochures, flyers, professional documentation. 

• Ability to competently use Microsoft Office (Word) Access to GoogleDocs and ability to navigate and utilise the platform for extraction of SOP material Skype and Whatsapp accounts for communication and logistics purposes.

• The volunteer must be good at English.

Conditions:-
