Online Volunteer Opportunity in English to French Translation from the UN

The United Nations ,in cooperation with the UNV Regional Office West and Central Africa ,is offering an online volunteer opportunity in English to French translation of UNVs articles. UNV's Regional Office in West and Central Africa would like to mobilize online volunteers who will have the responsibility to translate corporate articles for UNV's website. Often drafted and published in English, the articles will have to be translated in French.

Background and Objectives:-

• The articles to translate have been developed by the United Nations Volunteers Programme.
• Lately, the corporate communication has been updated, to fit more to the UNV core activities.
• Therefore, the UNV is looking for some online volunteers able to give some more global visibility to its regional activities by sharing their expertise in English-French bilingualism.

Tasks:-

• Often drafted and published in English, the articles will have to be translated in French. 
• As it is for an internal use before publishing, the UNV counts on Volunteers' confidentiality and sense of timing. This task will help UNV improve its communication. With time, UNV will need 10 articles' translation. Each of them will be around 500 words (barely a page) and will be sent progressively as their English version will be published, except for the 3 first articles. 
• The successful online volunteers will be fully credited for their efforts.

Requirements:-

For this opportunity, The UNV needs: 

• Highly skilled bilingual translator (English native preferably). 
• Very discreet and reliable collaborators.
• Collaborators who can submit the requested work in due time.
• Prior professional experience within a UN agency is an asset.

Conditions:-
