Opportunity description

UN Volunteers platform is offering an online volunteer opportunity, as it is looking for a Cartoonist to collaborate with Contra Nocendi International with on short cartoons to raise awareness of the work of Contra Nocendi as well as the issues of treatment in detention and torture. We wish to have two short cartoons developed that can be shared via social media and YouTube. Full artistic rights and contributions will be acknowledged. Volunteer will collaborate with our Head of Legal, our Head of Programmes and the Executive Director for our Cameroon sections to devise concepts to be used in the animated cartoons. 

Duration and working hours:

6-10 hours per week for overall eight weeks.

Eligibility criteria:

  1. Experience in graphic cartoons and animated video is necessary. 
  2. Volunteer must have access to software necessary to complete the project. 
  3. The volunteer must have reliable access to internet services included email and Skype/Teams. 
  4. Having a passion for human rights would be a positive. 
  5. Additionally, being able to communicate in English and French would be a plus. 
  6. The volunteer would likely need to be available for several Skype/Teams which can be scheduled at times convenient for all parties involved. 

Project objective:

The project will allow for Contra Nocendi to have additional tools to raise awareness about our work and also will equip us with additional tools to raise awareness of the rights of persons in detention and other human rights issues in the communities we work in.
