Opportunity description

The University of Waterloo in Canada is offering the Arthur F. Church Entrance Scholarships for both Canadian and International participants in order to take an undergraduate degree program at the university. This fund is made possible by a donation from Arthur F. Church to encourage exceptional students to attend Waterloo and to assist them in their scholarly pursuits.

Award Amount:

Two scholarships, valued at $10,000 each, are awarded annually to outstanding students entering the first year in the Faculty of Engineering: one to a student in Mechatronics Engineering and one to a student in Computer Engineering or Systems Design Engineering.

Selection Criteria:

 Selection is made on the basis of academic excellence and extracurricular achievements as assessed through the Admission Information Form.

Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible Programs:

  • Engineering: Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Systems Design Engineering.

Citizenship: 

  • Canadian/Permanent resident, 
  • International/study permit student.

Admission Requirements: 

  • Candidates must be completed a year 12 with a minimum of 70% marks or equivalent.

Language Requirement: 

  • If a candidate’s national language is not English, then they have to demonstrate the English language ability by the TOEFL or IELTS test.
